FUEL INJECTORS

There are two type of fuel rails made by Radium: upgrade rails and top feed conversion rails. Upgrade rails only upgrade the rail and the OEM fuel injectors can be reused. If an upgrade to the injectors is desired, they must be equivalent to the OEM injector, meaning they must be the same height and the upper & lower O-rings must match the OEM diameters and styles. Top feed conversion rails are used to convert a vehicle that has side feed (or sometimes air-assist) injectors over to a top feed injector.

This fuel rail is an upgrade rail. OEM or OEM equivalent injectors must be used.

Radium does not make fuel injector recommendations.

Consult your tuner for injector brand or flow rate recommendations.

OVERVIEW

20-0503-02 Fuel Rail, Mazda MZR and Ford Duratec

This Radium Engineering fuel rail is CNC machined from extruded 6063 aluminum, black anodized, and laser etched for a high quality surface finish. Like the original fuel rails, the injector bores are 14mm ID so factory injectors are permitted. Provisions for the OEM injector retaining clips are implemented as well. The rails are compatible with all fuel types including popular alcohol mixtures such as E85. Spacers and washers are included to thermally insulate the fuel rail from the cylinder head.

The fuel rail ports are tapped for 8AN ORB fittings.

Appropriate fittings must be selected based on the specific application. Ample space around the fuel rail port(s) is necessary for larger accessories such as fuel pressure regulators, fuel pressure gauges, and fuel pulse dampers. To verify clearance, the dimensional drawings on the product pages can be used as a reference guide.

This is compatible with early Ford models which had a Bosch fuel pressure sensor mounted to the OEM fuel rail. This sensor is not very common on Duratec/MZR engines. As shown, it adapts to the OEM fuel pressure sensor to 8AN ORB (3/4"-16) using the factory screws. The adapter can be mounted on any of the available fuel rail ports.
