FUEL INJECTORS

There are two type of fuel rails made by Radium: upgrade rails and top feed conversion rails. Upgrade rails only upgrade the rail and the OEM fuel injectors can be reused. If an upgrade to the injectors is desired, they must be equivalent to the OEM injector, meaning they must be the same height and the upper & lower O-rings must match the OEM diameters and styles. Top feed conversion rails are used to convert a vehicle that has side feed (or sometimes air-assist) injectors over to a top feed injector.

This fuel rail is an upgrade rail. OEM or OEM equivalent injectors must be used.

Radium does not make fuel injector recommendations.

Consult your tuner for injector brand or flow rate recommendations.
Consult the injector manufacturer for a part number that has the correct dimensions.

OVERVIEW

20-0369 Fuel Rail, Mazda MX-5

This fuel rail is CNC machined from extruded 6063 aluminum, black anodized, and laser etched for a high quality surface finish. It is a direct replacement for the OEM fuel rail. Plumbing kits are available that provide all the necessary parts to install and plumb the fuel rail with OEM components. The kits are compatible with all fuel types including popular alcohol mixtures such as E85. The OEM plastic spacers are reused and washers are included to thermally insulate the fuel rail from the aluminum intake manifold.

For easy installation with the OEM fuel system, select a plumbing kit (shown below).

PORTS AND FITTINGS

The fuel rail features three threaded ports that are all tapped for 8AN ORB fittings. The auxiliary top port on the fuel rail can be used for fuel system accessories such as a pressure gauge, fuel pulse damper, or it can simply be plugged.

If building a custom fuel setup, appropriate fittings must be selected based on the specific application. Ample space around the fuel rail port(s) is necessary for larger accessories such as fuel pressure regulators, fuel pressure gauges, and fuel pulse dampers. To verify clearance, the dimensional drawings on the product pages can be used as a reference guide.

20-0422 Fuel Rail Plumbing, 94-97 Mazda MX-5

This add-on kit permits a plug and play replacement for the OEM system on 1994-1997 Miatas. The OEM fuel pressure regulator is retained and the fuel feed and fuel return hoses are replaced.

20-0423 Fuel Rail Plumbing, 98-05 Mazda MX-5

This add-on kit, shown below, permits plug and play replacement for the OEM system on the 1999-2005 MX-5. The OEM fuel pulse damper and fuel feed hose are retained.

NOTE: If equipped, the EGR must be removed for the OEM fuel pulse damper fitment.
