OVERVIEW

The new Radium Engineering fuel pump hanger has been redesigned for improved fuel collection and for ease of installation. It completely replaces the factory in-tank fuel pump module and allows 1 or 2 aftermarket fuel pumps to be used. The OEM level sender is retained in order to maintain factory functionality.

The optional fuel hanger plumbing kits convert the OEM returnless system to a traditional return system. They include everything required to connect directly to the OEM or aftermarket fuel rails for both single and dual pump configurations.

There is a 355 LPH 1-way fill valve incorporated in the bottom of the collector that allows fuel in, but not out. The collector box is constantly replenished with fuel returning from the pressure regulator. PORTS AND FITTINGS The pump-out port is tapped with 3/4"-16 (8AN ORB) threads. The provided fitting is an 8AN ORB to 8AN Male The return-in port is tapped with 9/16"-18 (6AN ORB) threads. The provided fitting is an 6AN ORB to 6AN Male Additional 8AN ORB adapters fittings can be found HERE. Additional 6AN ORB adapters fittings can be found HERE. VENTURI JET PUMP The OEM venturi jet pump in the return line creates a restriction that can impact fuel pressure reliability. Radium Engineering has redesigned the siphon system to eliminate this restriction but still effectively scavenge fuel. This means higher flowing pumps can safely be used without fuel pressure issues. Depending on fuel pressure, the venturi jet pump will consume 15-45 LPH. Take this fuel loss into consideration when sizing the fuel pumps. If it is important for fuel pressure to hold steady after the engine is shut down, a check valve is required. NOTE: The 20-0966-0X fuel hanger plumbing kits below come standard with a built-in check valve filter. FUEL PRESSURE This system eliminates the OEM fuel pressure regulator inside the stock unit. This system requires the use of an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. A fuel pressure regulator is included in the plumbing kit listed below. FUEL FILTRATION This system eliminates the OEM "post" fuel pump filter. A low-micron aftermarket fuel filter should be installed downstream to protect the injectors from debris. A post-pump fuel filter is included in the plumbing kit listed below. ELECTRICAL Single fuel pump installations can re-use the OEM fuel pump controller wiring. Radium recommends upgrading the wiring to ensure the pumps are operating at their full potential. Universal fuel pump wiring kits can be found HERE. Select one for each aftermarket fuel pump used.

They include everything required to connect directly to the OEM or aftermarket fuel rails for both single and dual pump configurations. A 8AN PTFE hose attaches to a Radium Engineering fuel filter that mounts underneath the vehicle using a chassis-specific bolt-on bracket. The fuel filter features an integrated check valve. An inline fuel pressure gauge secures to the filter and an adjustable Radium RA-Series FPR. This regulator features the first tool-less pressure adjustment. A jam nut and set screw are no longer required. With a simple turn of the knob, pressure will be increased or decreased. 6AN PTFE hoses are included to connect to the port injection fuel rails and the high pressure fuel pump. This kit is suitable with all gasoline types including unleaded, leaded, oxygenated, and pre-mixes. Furthermore, they are compatible with alcohol blends of fuel including methanol, ethanol, and E85. FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR To aid in adjusting pressure, there are incremental detents that provide haptic feedback to the user. Every detent permits 1psi (+/-0.5psi) of adjustment depending on current fuel pressure. Furthermore, RA-series regulators feature a 360 degree swiveling vacuum reference port that is double O-ring sealed. This is the first in the industry. It permits the installer to quickly point the vacuum fitting in any direction with no tools required. There are 4 interchangeable 10-32 threaded vacuum port fittings provided to cover all scenarios. Barbed Fitting: A black zinc-plated 3/16" (5mm) barb machined from high strength steel that is compatible with the following vacuum hoses: 5/32" (4mm), 3/16" (5mm), and 7/32" (6mm). 3AN Male Fitting: A black zinc-plated adapter machined from high strength steel that is compatible with 3AN hose ends. Push-To-Connect: A nickel-plated brass fitting with Buna-N O-rings that is compatible with hard plastic 1/4" OD tubing. Vacuum Plug: A black oxide stainless steel screw that is used to maintain a constant (non dynamic) fuel pressure. To keep fuel pressure the same as the OEM fuel system, this plug should be used.
