Will fuel pump "X" fit this fuel pump hanger?
This question is asked very often. Most Radium Engineering hangers and surge tanks are modeled around common pumps from vendors such as Walbro (Ti Automotive), AEM, Deatschwerks and Bosch. The listed compatible pumps are the extent of the models that have been verified by Radium as compatible. There are many models and brands of pumps that are not checked and verified to be listed as compatible pumps with each hanger. When viewing the pump compatibility section of each product page a list of compatible pumps will be seen along with a link to this article.
This article will illustrate the dimensions, inlet types, outlet types, electrical connection types, and so on to allow the installer to determine if another pump might work as well. Height comparisons are important. For example: the 20-1640 fuel pump hanger for the Evo X is compatible with the Walbro GSS342, but is not compatible with the AEM 50-1200. This is because the GSS342 fits with less than 1mm of clearance. The AEM 50-1200 is not quite 2mm taller and that slight extra height renders the pump incompatible. A pump such as the AEM 50-1220 compact would likely fit, though an installer would need to purchase additional lengths of submersible tube to reach the shorter pump. Other pumps such as the DW100, DW200, and DW300 would have to be checked for fitment, but on paper they are also too tall.
The chart below lists many common pumps and their advertised dimensions. Use this data to compare the dimensions of a compatible pump and the dimensions of the desired pump to see if there would be a reason they would not work together. If the desired pump is not on the comparison chart below, an internet search should provide a dimension drawing to compare. Contact our technical support department via email at info@radiumauto.com with the part number of that pump and they will also provide some insight.
NOTE: All Radium hangers and surge tanks use fuel pumps with an offset inlet and an outlet that is inline with the inlet. If the pump does not have this configuration, it will not fit any Radium product.
