COMPATIBILITY

  • 2017+ Can-Am Maverick

NOTE: California (CARB) Can-Am Mavericks include a complex EVAP purge system that directs fumes back into the engine's intake. All other (Federal) Can-Am Mavericks do not have an EVAP purge system. This Radium Engineering system, filters the fuel vapors through the charcoal canister and vents out the rear of the UTV.

OVERVIEW

The Radium Engineering fuel vent charcoal canister purifies odors that emit from the fuel tank vent system. This issue further prevents itself after installing a windshield.

TESTING

  • Fuel vapor measurements were taken with a combustible gas detector which detects 50 ppm to 10,000 ppm.
  • All probe testing was measured inside the atmospheric exit of the fuel tank vent
  • Without the charcoal canister installed, the gas detector maxed out over 10,000 ppm of fuel vapor.
  • With the charcoal canister installed, the gas detector did not measure any fuel vapor (<50 ppm).

20-1827-SK SERVICE KIT FOR FUEL VENT CHARCOAL CANISTER

Recharging the fuel vent charcoal canister will not be a frequent occurrence but will depend on usage. For instance, if the internal carbon becomes overly saturated, filtration efficiency will be reduced.

Fortunately, the canister can be disassembled and recharged with fresh activated carbon and a new 150 micron strainer using this service kit.

PORT INFORMATION

  • The 10AN ORB (7/8"-14) top ports are vent paths for the inlet and outlet. They can be be used interchangeably. One 1/4" (6mm) low profile barbed fitting connects directly to the clear OEM fuel tank vent hose. The other 1/4" (6mm) low profile barbed fitting routes the filters fuel vent out the rear of the UTV.
  • The lower 4AN ORB (7/16"-40) port is used to drain any fuel that could be trapped in the canister. A 1/4" (6mm) barbed fitting routes to a petcock valve for easy draining underneath the UTV.
