There are 2 different oil cap styles used on LS-based engines, shown below. This cap will work on both styles.

OVERVIEW

Anodized aluminum billet oil cap designed for General Motors LS and LT engines. The top 7/8"-14 threaded port accepts 10AN ORB adapter fittings, and features internal stainless steel baffling that can be used for crankcase venting air/oil separation.

20-0539 OIL CAP, GM

Anodized aluminum billet oil cap with a 10AN ORB plug to block-off the internal baffle. This is simply a replacement oil cap. Nothing else is required.

Optionally, the center 10AN ORB plug can be unscrewed and removed. Underneath is a cleanable and reusable stainless steel baffle for air/oil separation. Click HERE for a list of compatible 10AN ORB fittings to make a custom crankcase venting setup.

20-0588 BAFFLED OIL CAP VTA KIT, GM

This is a VTA (vent to atmosphere) anodized aluminum billet oil cap. It is a direct replacement for the OEM oil cap.

20-0587 BAFFLED OIL CAP VTE KIT, GM

For Gen IV LS engines (05-13), this kit reintroduces a true PCV system. If the engine is turbocharged or uses a centrifugal supercharger, the crankcase will pressurize without a PCV valve. This can lead to engine sealing issues. This kit adds a billet O-ring sealed PCV valve which restores crankcase vacuum in all scenarios and only allows metered air into the intake. The baffled oil cap also adds additional air/oil separating filtration to the crankcase that is service free.

Although optimized for Gen IV LS engines, this kit still works on Gen III LS engines (97-04). It replaces a potentially old brittle PCV valve with a new billet O-ring sealed PCV valve. It also adds additional air/oil separating filtration to the crankcase that is service free.

Crankcase blow-by quickly escalates during aggressive driving. Excess oil saturated air circulating back into the air intake stream can degrade performance. Filtering these crankcase vapors out of the intake will effectively increase the octane of the burned gases.

This system features a VTE (vent to engine) anodized aluminum replacement billet oil cap. It has an integrated air/oil separator that accelerates oil condensation through a reusable stainless steel baffle. Furthermore, a new O-ring sealed PCV valve is introduced that prevents intake pressure from entering the crankcase. Also, in the event of a backfire, the PCV valve prevents combustible vapors from igniting in the crankcase.
