Radium Engineering catch cans feature large 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, 2-step oil separation baffling, and an O-ring sealed dipstick. These kits include everything needed for a complete installation. The catch can draws out oil and water condensation from the crankcase gasses that would otherwise be drawn into the intake manifold. Furthermore, the closed system prevents unwanted oil vapors from entering into the cabin.

FEATURES
-Effectively raises the octane and increased engine performance from cleaner inlet air
-Prevents oil buildup in the intake or intercooler system walls, throttle body, intake manifold, etc.
-Excessive oil collection can be an indicator of a damaged engine.
-Lowers hydrocarbon emissions
-Capacity: 7 fluid ounces

20-1336-FL CATCH CAN KIT, 98-05 MAZDA MX-5, PCV, FLUID LOCK

These catch cans mount using OEM holes and integrate perfectly with the surrounding components. The anodized aluminum catch can bracket mounts behind the RH headlight. NOTE: Because of the room needed for flip-up head lights, these kits are not compatible with the 89-97 MX-5 Miata or Eunos Roadsters.

As shown below, SAE quick connect fittings are provided for both catch can ports.

The PCV catch can kit improves the performance of the crankcase ventilation system. The catch can runs inline between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. When the intake manifold pressure is close to or greater than atmospheric pressure, the PCV "check" valve closes and, thus, this hose experiences no flow. Conversely, the PCV hoses will experience "metered" vacuum when the engine is idling, steady state cruising, and decelerating. This would normally draw unwanted crankcase vapor, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately after a high load run.

INCLUDES

-Baffled Fluid-Lock® oil catch can
-Anodized aluminum bracket
-SAE quick connect hose ends
-SAE quick connect fittings
-Stainless mounting hardware
-3/8" PCV rubber hose
-5/16" heater hose
-Cable zip-ties
-Spring clamps

20-1337-FL CATCH CAN ADD-ON, 98-05 MAZDA MX-5, CCV, FLUID LOCK

NOTE: THIS ADD-ON CANNOT BE INSTALLED WITHOUT 20-1336-FL CATCH CAN KIT (LISTED ABOVE).
As shown below, the anodized aluminum catch can bracket mounts to the catch can bracket included with 20-1336-FL.

To retain factory functionality, the CCV catch can runs inline between the crankcase vent (CCV) port and the intake pipe. At low loads, this catch can experiences atmospheric pressure. However, when the engine is at high load (WOT), these vents will experience high flow out of the crankcase. This would normally lead to oil and sludge accumulation in the air filter intake pipe.

INCLUDES

-Baffled Fluid-Lock® oil catch can
-Anodized aluminum bracket
-SAE quick connect hose ends
-SAE quick connect fittings
-Stainless mounting hardware
-3/8" PCV rubber hose
-Cable zip-ties
-Spring clamps

20-1338-FL DUAL CATCH CAN KIT, 98-05 MAZDA MX-5, FLUID LOCK

This dual catch can kit includes both the PCV and CCV catch can kits.

This is the ultimate in engine protection.

INCLUDES
-Baffled Fluid-Lock® oil catch can
-Anodized aluminum bracket
-SAE quick connect hose ends
-SAE quick connect fittings
-Stainless mounting hardware
-3/8" PCV rubber hose
-5/16" heater hose
-Cable zip-ties
-Spring clamps

An oil catch can is essential on a vehicle to protect the engine from elevated levels of crankcase blow-by accumulated from normal wear and tear. Excess oil saturated air circulating back into the air intake stream can lead to degraded performance. Read about all the benefits and functionality of the Radium Engineering's popular catch cans here:
