A fuel surge tank (FST) is designed to prevent fuel starvation to the engine on vehicles with inadequate fuel tank baffling. The FST fuel pump feed the fuel rail(s). The volume of fuel inside the surge tank acts as a buffer to always keep the FST pump supplied with fuel. This volume is maintained by the main fuel tank's pump as well as the fuel returning from the fuel pressure regulator. Excess fuel in the surge tank is returned back to the vehicle's main fuel tank.

The surge tank also provides a quick and easy way to upgade any standard fuel system without heavily modifying the in-tank pump system. This is an excellent fueling solution for vehicles installing large demand power upgrades such as forced induction.

FST for Fuelab Prodigy Brushless Pumps

This Radium Engineering fuel surge tank is specifically designed for use with a Fuelab Prodigy in-tank "power module" (sold separately). Please reference the Fuelab website for details and information about Prodigy pumps. The compatible pump model part numbers and associated flow rates are shown below.

Brushless fuel pump technology permits lower current draw thus less heat will be introduced into the fuel system. The FST and all pumps listed above are compatible with all fuel types including E85. The large Radium FST reservoir provides ample fuel supply for even the most demanding conditions. The tank is constructed from CNC machined aluminum and is anodized to resist oxidation.

The 3 auxiliary ports on the FST and the fuel pump outlet are tapped for 3/4"-16 (8AN ORB) threads. Three -6AN male adapter fittings are included for the auxiliary ports and a -6AN male fitting is included for the pump outlet. However, if different sized fittings are required, they can be purchased separately HERE.

As shown above, an aluminum retaining bracket and stainless steel hardware is included to secure the pump. A specially designed pump inlet fitting is included with the surge tank, as shown below. Also, a 65 micron inlet sock filter is provided to prevent any debris or contaminants.

Installation Notes:
1. A lift pump is required to supply fuel to the surge tank.
2. The surge tank must be mounted as near vertical as possible.
3. A mounting bracket is not necessary with this fuel surge tank.
4. The Fuelab pump outlet can be rotated to point any direction.
